Intermediate Ranger RoboCamp
Each students will construct one of three Ranger kit Robots (Land Raider, Nervous Bird, or Dashing Raptor). They will connect various sophisticated sensors and modules to the Arduino Mega2560 (Auriga) board. The Ranger kit includes the Ultrasonic sensor, Line following sensor, Temperature sensor, Sound sensor, Gyroscopic sensor, as well as a Bluetooth or 2.4ghz wirelsss module. Each student will be given a set of tasks and objectives that their robot must accomplish.
Throughout the course the students will learn advanced programming techniques using the mBlock language. With these skills they will control the robot's on board lights, sounds, sensors, and motors. The student will also be introduced to the Arduino IDE and explore the differences between mBlock programming and Arduino C/C++ programming. The class will be split into two teams of six students and each team will be given a set of tasks and objcetives that their robots (as a team) must accomplish.
This class offers a budding Roboticist hands-on experience with electrical-mechanical engineering, problem domain logic design, coding/programming language skills, testing and debugging hardware and software. As well as the opportunity to participate and be part of a robotics team while engaged in fun competition!
At the end of the RoboCamp week the two teams will use their robots to solve a set of difficult challenges and obsticles. The winning team will eligible to compete for prizes in our End-of-Summer Ultimate Robotics Competition.
Class enrollment is strictly limited to 12 students per class in order to maintain optimum Student/Teacher ratio. Enrollment for the 2016 Summer Classes will open on June 13th 2016 @ 9:00am. Please email us if you would like to secure a spot in one of our classes.
